New Balance

In life, we often find ourselves on a winding path, navigating transitions & seeking that elusive state of balance. This journey can be particularly challenging during significant life changes, like a job transition. Today, I want to share my personal experience of rediscovering balance during a career shift & how it's led me to embrace the journey of creating new equilibrium.

Balancing a Career Transition

After dedicating 17 years to a career, I found myself at a crossroads, ready to explore new horizons. It was a leap of faith, but with every ending comes a new beginning. While I initially mourned the loss of the balance I'd created over the years, I soon discovered that this transition was an opportunity for profound personal growth.

One key lesson I've learned is that balance is not static. It evolves with us. As I transitioned from my previous career, I redirected the old balance I had, which revolved around serving others, towards a newfound focus on my own well-being. It's been a rejuvenating experience, reminding me that sometimes we need to rebalance our priorities to nurture our own growth.

Finding Your Personal Balance

Balance isn't a one-size-fits-all journey; it's a magical experience when you understand YOUR personal balance. Here are three types of balance & how to establish them:

1️⃣ **Emotional Balance**: To find emotional balance, start by acknowledging your feelings. Embrace the ebbs & flows of emotions. Practice mindfulness & self-compassion. Seek support when needed. Remember, it's okay not to be okay sometimes.

2️⃣ **Life Balance**: Life balance involves juggling various aspects - family, work, hobbies & more. Prioritize what truly matters to you. Create boundaries to protect your time. Learn to say no when necessary. Delegate tasks & share responsibilities. Balance is about harmony, not perfection.

3️⃣ **Work Balance**: In the pursuit of professional success, don't forget self-care. Set realistic work hours. Take breaks to recharge. Separate work & personal time. Delegate tasks when possible. Remember, your well-being is your greatest asset.

When you feel off balance, here's how to rebalance:

🔄 **Establish the Downfall**: Identify what's causing the imbalance. Is it overcommitment, stress, or neglecting self-care?

🧩 **Finding a Solution**: Once you know the cause, brainstorm solutions. It could be simplifying your schedule, seeking support, or adjusting priorities.

🚀 **Implementing the Change**: Take action! Start small, but consistently. Embrace the changes & adapt as needed.

Embrace Your Unique Balance, It's Your Superpower!

*Personal Update:*

In the midst of this transition, I encountered another challenge – finding the right path forward. I considered pursuing a career in Human Relations (HR) & even took steps towards HR schooling. However, my intuition sent a red flag & I decided to trust my instincts. It's crucial to listen to our energy, even in the face of attractive opportunities. While I still have a passion for business, my intuition guided me to explore other avenues & prioritize my main goals.

Embracing the 24/7 Journey of Balance

One thing I've come to realize is that balance is not a destination; it's a continuous journey. It's a 24/7 experience that requires adaptability, self-awareness & the willingness to redirect our focus when needed. Embracing this journey means celebrating every step forward & being compassionate with ourselves during moments of imbalance.

During my healing journey from a hysterectomy surgery, I entered a new era of self-wellness & balance. It was a reminder that balance extends beyond our careers; it encompasses our physical and emotional well-being.

Creating new balance during a job transition can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. It's an opportunity for growth, self-discovery & the chance to redefine your priorities. As I continue on this journey myself, I encourage you to embrace your unique path, trust your intuition & remember that balance is a constant evolution. It's not about standing still but moving forward with purpose & self-compassion.
