Finished Chapter

Countless chapters in on my life story & this one is for my Business. A Sheariously blog time capsule.

This petite home served an important purpose. Simple, effective, affordable & easy to clean!

Our first home where we developed countless memories for my lil'family of three for 10 years!

As time past, we started to grow out of our home & craved a new structure to be more ideal for family life & my Home Based Business. This was our second go around selling our house & it definitely was smoother process compared to the first.

Being on the market for 28 days, { A sign from the Universe, my husband & I are both born on the 28th} new house being built & ready for mid- January, living in a rental in the meantime [9 days] & this all is happening in December. Being a Hairstylist, moving in the busiest season of the year & winter.. wouldn't be my month to move but it's just happened & part our journey.

The best news that came along with this transition is we got possession date sooner than mid-January to December 20th. 5 days before X-mas. YIPPY!!! To make this move work, my family has to being a a rental till the New House was done being built; as a Rental company purchased our home & wanted to do reno's so they can promote for rental Jan. 1st. The news of early possession relieved my overwhelm, as I will not be doing Hair Sessions in the rental like I planed. It would have been Sheariously Ghetto. Legit, Kitchen Salon in the short time span....what I fought for not living up to the stigma....I'm thrilled I can proceed to the next stage more smoothly.

The new Home will host Sheariously Salon in the frontal attached garage that will have a separate Guest door & no stairs entering the Business. This will now enable more Salon & Home privacy & better Balancing for myself/family.

On Sundays/Mondays, my days off, I barely went downstairs. It's not fun going to work on your days off. Would you want to on your days off??? It worked well cause it meant I didn't do laundry those days so it was up to Kyle. No work & no laundry...lived my best life, lol.

Plus, when our Son had Friends over, there was limited chill out space for us Parents to hang out. Kitchen/Bedroom. It was our time to change it up.

Before we jump ahead to the new, I must reminisce about this place that started my Business.

This place is the birth place of Sheariously 6 years ago. I Sheariously worked in my basement after 7 years working in the Salon atmosphere. Heading into my 14th year behind the chair! It was a risky switch but let me tell you it was one I am so thankful to try out. Two different set up spaces in the basement that provided a cozy, professional, licensed & insured space that had everything I & Guests need. I'mma be Sheariously real, I wasn't fond of my exterior appearance of my home but it definitely held a hidden gem inside.

My first year in 2013, I need to see if I could cut it as a Home Based Salon & learn better Business management, plus hold myself accountable. Pay my expenses, taxes, pay myself, grow & sustain. I had a 3 year goal to move out & start a Salon with employee's. Well, my growth of learning as an Independent Hairstylist & Entrepreneur, I preferred providing for my family in a Home Based Business environment. It worked so nice as I am able to take care of my Son at the same time.

This Business journey provided me Freedom & flexibility. These 2 F words that make me smile & proceed on blooming.

Freedom ---> Create my Business structure suitable for myself that align with my family boundaries. Independent Artist Lifestyle, Freedom of learning things that inspire me, opening to new plans, goals, potential experiences & opportunities.

Flexibility ---> Being able to better balance Motherhood & career under 1 roof with designing my own work hours. Staying committed to my goals but staying flexible in my approach to achieve them.

Growing my Business by marketing through Social Media has been a key factor from the beginning. Show casing my creations & that I am a Home Based Salon with a professional flare assisted on retaining & gathering new Guests.

My proudest moment in my Home Business is when I was head hunted to  become a Matrix Educator. A Brand that didn't care that I worked from home or Stigma. Made my heart glow, met marvelous artists & got to travel to work. Dreams come true no matter your location.

My journey as an Educator for the brand was short. It hurt my heart to step back but I had to do it for my well being. I wasn't able to balance, got overwhelmed, BURNT OUT HARD & put work before my family. This is when I discovered being an Entrepreneur was a lonely adventure & I couldn't do everything. I was willing to sacrifice a dream to restructure my balance & regain self value back.

There were many times my goals flopped. That is part of Business Life & finding new solutions to evolve the new goal to succeed. Success is built on failure. Only if you embrace the fail & SHIT-uation. This is a chance giving you an opportunity to re-evaluate what you what by planning & persevering.

My hair journey is the same, just a new location that will be better suited for my Business needs. I contemplated on taking my Business out of the home but I have a big purpose & passion working from home. I have something I have been working on & it takes time to develop. When then comes, it's going to be SHEARIOUSLY MARVELOUS! In the meantime, stay updated on Insta-Stories & be updated on the New Improved Sheariously!

Till next time,

Sin-Sheariously, Jami!
